Four-hour long erections?

The long awaited blog post has been written!

My sincere apologies for the delay, cause I know that many have been waiting for the rest of the story!

So here goes... however I dont know if the rest of the story is what you boys really want to know or not...

Or maybe I shall just keep you in suspense a lil longer.....

ok, ok here goes

Just one single bite from the Brazilian wandering spider also known as  armed spider, banana spider or Phoneutria nigriventer which is native to South and Central America has shown to have a number of side effects, one of them being a 4 hour long erection.

However this is not an ordinary erection, it is a very painful erection *sits back and waits for the womens comments! & it also causes loss of muscle control, severe pain, difficulty breathing and if its victim is not treated with anti-venom, it could lead to death due to oxygen deprivation....some of our facebook fans were correct in predicting that it can cause death.

The good news though is that it is estimated that only 10 humans out of 7,000 have died from its bite.

& the rest of the good news is that this spiders venom is being tested to possibly in the future develop medications for those in which viagra does not work.

X-Rated Traumatic Insemination

Bed bugs are becoming a significant problem in Australia and around the world. Bed bugs are easily spread and difficult to treat, which is resulting in a rapid growth in the number of bed bug outbreaks.

But did you also know that the bedbug is listed in the top 10 animals for the weirdest & most violent mating habits?

The male bedbug in fact stabs the female in the abdominal region with his sharp genitalia and inseminates her directly in her body cavity.

However as the male bedbug isn't not the brainiest creature (I wont utter a word.. I promise lol) he will attempt to mate with another male!

Unfortunate though for the innocent male bedbug this mistaken identity & having his abdomen speared by a males needlelike member will cause its death.

Only the female bedbug has evolved to grow defense cells against the bedbug insemination process.

Interesting...

I have even included a video of this process watch if you dare....

Web Affects - Drugs

In a 1995 study conducted by NASA Dr. David Noever & his team of researches studied webs which were spun by common household spiders which had been dosed with several drugs, such as caffine, marijuana, LSD etc.

The study showed that the higher drug toxicity, the less organised the spider web was!

Below are some of the results:
  • The spider on marijuana feel asleep before it finished building its web
  • The spider on an upper, benzedrine, worked energetically but was its web was unorganised
  • The spider dosed with the sedative chloral hydrate, soon fell asleep.
  • The spider dosed with caffeine proved incapable of creating even a single organized cell, and its web showed no sign of the “hub and spokes” pattern.
The differences and effects can be seen in the images below

Beetle's Natural defence may save lives

Soldier Beetle

The three genes that combine to make the fatty acid soldier beetles use to ward off predators has been replicated. Because of its anti-microbial properties, the substance may be synthesized to develop antibiotics and anti-cancer chemicals for human consumption.
